Feline Fatale

Here are some behind the scenes shots from what was a very productive day of shooting!
The finished images will be used in the Promo shots and Posters for a great event that myself and a group of local creatives are working on. We are organising a big fashion show in aid of Galway Cat Rescue, a charity organisation based in Galway that helps provide fostering, new homes, and vetinary attention to abandoned cats. They are such a dedicated and hardworking organisation, and are, like many other charities, in need of support and funding. Taking place in the Galway Bay Hotel on October 19th, the fashion show, entitled "Feline Fatale" will be showcasing the work of some of Galway's very best independent designers and vintage sellers.

Its always exciting to work with new photographers and other creatives, and today I was lucky enough to have a great team behind me, including amazing photographer Peter Fedrizzi. Hair styling was provided by the very talented Danica of Momento Hairdressing, and the delightfully vampy makeup was done my the skilled Julianne of Makeup-is-Art. The clothes are bespoke womenswear label Harlow and Harvey.

A huge amount of work has been put in by our team, an amount which I believe will only be vastly multiplied in the coming weeks! Feline Fatale looks to be a fantastic event, and for those in the Galway area, one not to be missed!

Check out all the details on the poster below, and stay tuned for more updates!

I want my MTV

The wind seems to be a prevailing factor in all of mine and Saibhs photographs. The misbehaving gusts  whip my hair back and forth in such a manner that is a wonder my dearest readers know what my hair looks  like at all. Which in truth is no harm at all, because it was getting into an awful state of scraggyness, (as you can probably see in the above photos) and desperately needed a goof chop. I treated myself to a good shearing and a deep conditioning treatment in Lola&Belles in Salthill yesterday (lovely spot, do check it out) and am delighted with the results!
Ah haircuts, they do wonders for the spirit!

This outfit post is also the debut of my NEW SHOES! See here for an explanation as to why I love them so much, although, I'd imagine from the photos its pretty darn obvious :P

Close Encounters of The Third Mind

One of my favourite models of the moment, Abbey Lee Kershaw modeling the new campaign "The Third Mind" for jewellery line ManiaMania.
Im completely enthralled by the kaleidoscope design and the dreamey vibe. Abbey has an ethereal, sensual quality about her that makes her perfect for this kind of campaign, just take a look at her in the video...

Ah Abbey, you magical, mystical creature you.

Superga 2750 Classic

Sneakers, Runners, Plimsoles, Pumps...

Whatever you like call them, they're a staple in most girl's wardrobes all year round, and a welcome haven to your poor feet after subjecting them to the perils of high heels.

If, like me, you're feeling like you want a bit more weather resistance in your sneakers this year than your usual €4 pumps (why do I do keep doing it to myself?!)
Or maybe, dare I say it, you're just plain bored of Converse, and feeling its time for a change?

I give to you the Superga 2750 Classic, the new kid on the block, sneaker wise, of course.  With its charming little platform and slightly geeky look, its certainly caught my attention, although it appears Im not the only one...

The Italian Superga's "2750 Classic" sneaker has been a favourite among the fashion-pack for some time now, with longtime fan Alexa Chung acting as their newest model.

Considering all of this, I am left rather surprised (and overjoyed) at their affordable €45 price-tag.

Available in all the colours of the rainbow, these sneakers are now placed firmly on top of my lust-list, though I feel it shall be quite some time before I manage to decide on which colour!

Yin seeks Yang

Some photos from a shoot I did recently with the wonderful Saibh Egan.

I cannot express to you how much fun I have shooting with this girl.
She makes it so easy, you sort of forget you're in front of a lens.
When you're working as a model in any shape or form, you very quickly come to understand the value of a photographer who makes their subject feel comfortable. For those of you who are less familiar, Its probably the most important factor in getting a good shot.
Now I'm no professional, but I know that If you do not have that comfort, its impossible to establish a flow between photographer and subject.
In terms of energy and creativity, its symbiotic. One feeds off off the other, Yin&Yang style :)

She's moving to Dublin very soon, I don't know what I will do without her-

Now who will tend to my narcissistic-blogging-photography needs?????
She's my Yang for fuckssake!!!

sorry.

anyhow.

Her photos have a nostalgic feel to them,  and she has a wonderful eye for detail and capturing those "in-between" moments.

Here are a few of my favourite shots of hers:

For anyone in Dublin (or thereabouts) looking for a killer photographer, you need to look this kid up.

And for any photographers in Galway (or thereabouts) of a creatively adventurous disposition:

Yin. Female. 22. seeking Yang.
