I've just spent the last two days hanging out in the sunshine with my pals, getting high on that sweet. sweet Vitamin D! Today looks like its going to be just as beautiful, so I think a trip to the beach is in order! Here's a quick outfit post for you all, This is what I like to call my "Minty Fresh" look, its perfect for spring time and warmer weather, and I love how fresh and floaty I feel when Im wearing it. As you can see form the first few photos my shirt collar has tips attached to it!  I had really wanted a collar-tipped shirt, but all the ones I saw were quite expensive, so after spotting spying some great diy inspiration on the internet, I just picked up some of those little filgree card corners that you can get in most stationary shops and sewed them on! Now I am FAR from the best sewer around, so If I can manage it somehow, then you can too! If anyone has trouble finding the card corners you con pick them up on ebay for cheap here! Hope you enjoy guys, I'm off to have some more fun in the Sun! :)

Its promised sunny all over Ireland over the next few days, so I hope all my Irish readers will be planning to make the most if it! I'm sorry that I haven't been posting as frequently as usual on this, and the truth is that I've been knee deep in an exciting new project. Its a lot of hard work, but I know it will be worth it, and I cannot WAIT to unveil it to you all as soon as Its ready, which shouldn't be too long now! I think Im going to make a little video explaining it to you all in the next few days, so watch out! Anyhow, back to business! I think it's probably getting pretty evident by my Lookbook titles that I'm loving Lana del Ray's album lately. Sure, I'm also listening to other stuff too, but her lyrics make for some pretty good outfit titles, don't you think? I like to think myself as somewhat of gangster, and I most certainly have big dreams :) I'm so happy the weather is getting warmer, even if only enough to finally  be able to lose all those layers of clothing for a few decent photos! This is my favourite kind of outfit, a dash of boho, a dash of grunge, and a nice dose of trinket jewellery :) This is also first appearance of one of my favourite pair of shoes, the beautiful Zoe Boot from Sam Edelman. These beauties have been on my lust list for over a year now, so you can only imagine my elation when I found they were half off in the current Nasty Gal sale... Rejoice!

Anyhow, I have a few bits of news and fun things to announce in the next few days, so stay tuned homies!

Diet Coke "Get Glam" Event ~ Finished Video & Photos!

Hey Guys! I'm so happy to finally be able to show you all the video form the Diet Coke & Benefit Cosmetics "Get Glam" event in Galway! It was so much fun working with the rest of the Diet Coke crew, they're all absolutely lovely. I'm really enjoying getting to do more presenting work, the event itself was fantastic, with makeovers galore, and lots of makeup tips and tricks to be shared.

"Get Glam" Benefit Event ~ Presenting for DietCoke Tv!

So the Diet Coke and Benefit "Get Glam" event was on yesterday in the Corrib Shopping Centre, and it was so much fun!

I really had such a blast, I got to meet some wonderful people, the Thinkhouse/Diet Coke team are fantastic, and I absolutely LOVED the presenting parts. Although I am still learning so much, its something I find I really enjoy doing. I really cant wait to see the footage, and show you guys, I hope I did a good job!

The lovely ladies at Benefit did my makeup for the event, there was one of three looks to choose from; Fashionista, Rock Chick and Romantic. They decided to pick the romantic look for me and I absolutely loved it, especially how fresh faced it was! What do you guys think?

Here is a close-up of my new collar-tipped shirt, a current love of mine! The shirt is from Penneys, but I made the collar tips myself, (DIY tutorial coming soon) :)

The scarf is another current favourite, I really like the pastel colours, and the print is wicked! I picked it up in River Island with the vouchers they gave me on my press trip.

After the event I met up with some good friends that I never get to see anymore (its crazy how life in general just seems to get in the way!) and we went out for cocktails and dinner (with lots of wine) and then out to a club for some dancing :D

It was such a nice finish to a perfect day, Its so great getting to spend time with old friends.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Just a quick non-fashion related post for you all, I have two wonderful things to celebrate today! 

Firstly, today is International Women's Day!

 I don't claim know what exactly this day means to each of you, some of you might not even care much, but it really is a day that we should all be proud of.

First established in 1909, International Women's Day is a global day celebrating 100 year's of women's achievements in the social, economic, and political sphere. Today we celebrate women of the past, present and future, all that we have achieved and also, we acknowledge all that there is left to do.

As a someone who is involved with various aspects of the media, (blogging, modeling, journalism, and presenting) it is difficult to ignore the inequalities and misrepresentation that our gender still suffers. 

For any of you who are interested, here is a trailer for a fantastic documentary about the misrepresentation of women by the media.

Released at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011, this is a moving, compelling and fascinating look at some very real issues concerning women today. Concerning you and I.

However shocking, it is also an entertaining and uplifting watch, so don't let the "heavy" content deter you, this is a must see.

The second thing I wanted to celebrate today, is my blogs first birthday!

Yes, Wild Child Stories is now one year old, and what a wonderfully exciting, adventure-filled year it has been. This blog has brought me some amazing places, and I am so happy to be able to share my journey with you all, my fantastic readers. Seeing all of your lovely responses and positive feedback, not to mention engaging with all the other amazing bloggers, in Ireland and beyond means more to me than I can express!

So here's to another year!

Exciting Announcement // Diet Coke Tv!!

Hey Guys, I have some fantastic news for you all! I'm so happy to finally be able to share with you guys, I'm going to be presenting for Diet Coke Tv!!!

Aaaaaagh!!

Diet Coke Tv, which is currently presented by the lovely Lottie Ryan, has decided to branch out with its presenters, and have chosen regional representatives from Cork, Dublin, Belfast and Galway to join their ranks. I can't express to you all how happy I was when I opened an email and found that they had chosen me as their Galway presenter. I had just stepped off my returning flight from the madness that was London Fashion Week, so it was out of one adventure and right into another!  My first gig is this Saturday in Debenhams shopping centre, Galway City, where I will be covering the Diet Coke & Benefit "Get Glam" event! I'm so excited, there will also be makeovers, freebies, and some great prizes to be won, so I hope to see all you Galway heads there!

D.I.Y. INSPIRATION

I have decided that I want to attempt a few  DIY projects in the next few months, It seem to be a fun, inexpensive and (relatively) easy way to update your wardrobe. Here is some amazing DIY inspiration that I have gathered from the interwebz, that I shall use as my guide, and all going well, you can expect a  few DIY tutorials to be coming soon!

     

There is an abundance of how-to videos like these on youtube, I really have no excuse to give it a go! :)
