Some of you may have spotted these "Folktranes" when I posted a peek of them on my Facebook page last week, but I wanted to do an outfit post with them to give you guys a proper look at how awesome they are! I'm sure you've all heard of Folkster by now, the online shopping destination selling a mix of Stutterbug and vintage stock. I have been drooling over their collection Jeffrey Campbells, not to mention their amazing collection of vintage stock, so when the lovely Sinead offered me a pair of their exclusive new Folktranes to style up on for the blog, well I jumped at the chance.
The Coltrane boot has been on my wishlist for quite some time now, and I've always loved the durable, bulky design of the shoe, it's juuuust the right side of clunky. The oil-slick finish is the perfect edgy update for the boot, giving them their unique sheen. Folkster owner Blanaid Hennesy has also been a secret style-crush of mine for some time now, so I decided to pay homage to her covetable boho-grunge style when putting together this look. Unfortunately the dress, gilet and hat I am wearing in these photos aren't available on the highstreet anymore, so I have linked some good-value alternatives in the outfit discription above, and in my handy new 'Shop the Look' widget below.
I was back in Galway over the weekend for my sister Claire's hen party, you can see a snap of what I wore on my facebook page, it was so much fun! She's getting married happening in Nerja, Spain in two weeks time and I CANNOT wait. We went on a family holiday in the same spot in Nerja about six months ago (see more here) and it's such a magical place, I am so excited to go back. In other news, I'm working on a series of "A/W Coat Edit" blog posts featuring my pick of the best (and best value) coats on the market, so be sure to keep an eye out for those in the next few days!
