Last week I got a request from a reader to do a feature on the best winter coats that are out there at the moment, which I thought it was a wonderful idea, as I absolutely love a good coat, and I can be pretty picky when looking for the right one. This is the first in my series of "A/W Coat Edit" posts, with the aim to showcase the best of the highstreet/online winter coats, particularly those that are both on-trend and affordable. I have categorised them into groups of trends, and I will choose six coats per trend, to give a nice mix of choices for everyone. So, lets begin!
A good cape has to be one of my top picks for your A/W '13
wardrobe. I think they're so elegant and chic, and they're surprisingly
easy to style. Maybe it was the Queen of Capes, Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl
who did it for me, but the image of a simple cape thrown over a dress
or skirt seems like layering perfection. I had originally intended on
featuring capes from a variety of high-street and online retailers, but
while doing my research, I had to accept that websites like Romwe and SheInside
were offering the best value, and the most variety by far. I myself
have purchased the minimalist cape (top right) and I can happily say
that the quality is fantastic, and for the amazing price, I'm pretty chuffed! I also shot an outfit post with my this cape this morning, and the
photos should be up on the blog in the next few days.
I hope you enjoyed this little "A/W Edit" feature, I'd love to know what you guys think, as its not something I usually do! Next up in the series I'll be looking at the Masculine/Oversized coat trend, it's one of my favourite coat-styles, so I'm really excited to share my top picks with you guys.
Peace,
WildChild,
