eBay Bargain Picks #6

Clockwise from top-left: Tulle SkirtJumpsuitTropical Print ShirtLeather Jogging PantsTransparent Clutch (more colours available)Pineapple Bag, Valentino Dupes (more colours available)

Here are my latest batch of eBay bargains, and I have to say that they are some of my favourite finds so far! The tulle skirt (which I wore in a recent outfit post) is the perfect length and thickness, I'm seriously tempted to get it in another shade! This pineapple bag (which I wore to a video shoot recently) as a bit silly i'll admit, but I still absolutely love it, it adds just the right amount of whimsy into an outfit, and it was perfect for my holiday to Nerja.

The leather jogging pants (which I wore in another outfit post recently) I was also really happy with, but I would recommend sizing up if you are purchasing, as they were a little tight around the ankles. The Valentino-dupes are one of the best lookalikes I've seen online, the triple ankle-straps, look great on! Although I would absolutely love the real-deal, the €600 price tag is just too much to justify spending right now (maybe someday!) so for now these are the perfect alternative. They also run in a slightly smaller size (as with a lot of Asian shoes & clothing) so sizing up would be a good idea! The jumpsuit sizing is fine actually, (I got a medium as I wanted a loose fit) as is the t-shirt, and the tulle skirt.

I hope you guys enjoy these little bargains I have rooted out for you all, it's been one of my favourite eBay posts to date! If you are thinking of buying anything and have any questions, please feel free to drop me a comment below this post, or an email me at whiteodoherty@gmail.com. You can also check out some of my older eBay posts herehere and here.

Disclaimer: As with all my eBay bargain posts, please read my beginners guide if you have never shopped on eBay before. Also, be sure to read the full descriptions of any item you wish to buy.

eBay Bargain Picks #5: iPhone Covers

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

I think its fantastic how over the past few years, the humble iPhone cover has turned into a whole new fashion accessory. With high-end labels and highstreet shops alike churning out all sorts of designs, it appears to be the method du jour of expressing your personality and style-credentials. I myself am all about a quirky phone cover, it's the perfect way to show your goofier side, without having to wear something ridiculous head-to-toe.

You may remember the Fionnuala Bourke phone cover I sported last year, which was just about as crazy as a phone cover can get, although its custom/handmade-design did call for a larger price tag. Since then I have been sourcing out some cheaper alternatives, so you can get your quirky fix on any budget.

Above are my top picks for entertaining, eye-catching iPhone covers. Most of these covers are from eBay, except for number five and six, number six being part of the hand-customised range of covers sold by my blogger buddy Retro Flame. It's also the cover I have sported for the past few months, and have absolutely loved, due to its durability and protective quality. I also want to mention that some of the covers listed above are for the iPhone 4, and some for the 5 (I wanted to make it as even as possible!) so apologies if anyone is disappointed, just hit me up if you want me to link you to the 4 or 5 version.

My latest purchase is the ADORABLE pineapple cover shown above, which is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. It is a tad oversized however, so I may need to choose something a little more streamlined to swap for if I'm using a small clutch or my pockets on a night out, Im thinking maybe the gold filigree one for a more chic, minimal look?

Hope you guys enjoyed this batch of eBay bargains (with some extras!) and keep your eyes peeled for my latest instalment, I have some really great one's lined up for you guys!

Ps: Before I sign off, I'd just like to mention that I've submitted an entry into a presenting compeition, to be the new face of District MTV and if I win I will get to cover London Fashion Week for the channel later this month, which would be such an amazing experience, and basically a dream come true for me! Have a look at my entry video (its only 30 seconds long!) and feel free to throw me a vote if you like, it would be much appreciated.

eBay Bargain Picks #4: Autumn/Winter Boots

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Im sure you're all somewhat aware by now that chunky boots are big news for Autumn/Winter, and it looks like the clunkier, the better! The phrase "Man Repeller" has been used to describe this type of shoe, and it's one trend that I will definitely be jumping on board with. Now I'm no stranger to my quirky ankle boots (see here, here and here) however, this years desirables are significantly lower and more mannish looking, which to me means more comfortable, which means HUZZAH!

I also know that I'm a bit quick on the draw in showing you A/W boots when we're still sweating away here in August, but I figured that since most of these items will take at least two, maybe three weeks to ship, that anyone who orders will get them just in time! I hope you guys enjoy this special boot-theemed eBay post, I think I might organise them like this from now on, it makes more sense to group them into themes. I have been getting a wonderful response from you all towards these posts, (read my recent ones here and here) and I'm delighted you like them so much! Please let me know if there is any particular trend or item you would like me to hunt down on eBay, and I will happily put my trawling skills to good use.

Disclaimer: As with all my eBay bargain posts, please read my beginners guide if you have never shopped on eBay before, so you will know what to expect. Also, be sure to read the descriptions of any item you wish to buy. Considering the cheapness of some of these boots, please don't expect them to be genuine leather, as I am sure most of them are not, and like many highstreet shops, they are probably made from artificial leather.

Ps: Did you see that I've given my blog a little facelift? I've been getting some help from a lovely blogger Hannah whom I met at the Blog Awards last week, and together we've in the process of giving WildChild Stories a whole new look! I'd love to know what you all think of it.

eBay Bargain Picks #3

Im delighted with how well these eBay bargain posts have been going! (See pervious features here and here) You guys seem to like them, (come on, who DOESN'T love a good bargain!?) so I don't see any reason to stop sharing all of my thrifty finds with you! Here is my latest batch of bargains from my trawls across eBay:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

The rather simple yet oh-so-fabulous "skort" has taken the fashion blogging world by storm, with so many bloggers sporting it in recent weeks. I think they are a fab little piece, and one that can by styled in so many different ways, so I was determined to get my own skort-fix.

I found a seller that offers them at a really great price, so I bought them in all the four colours above! (Yes, I have a problem.) Aside from a few stray threads here are there (which can be easily snipped off) they are good quality (especially for the amazing price), and I have been wearing them a lot since they arrived. I haven't featured any of these skorts in an outfit post just yet, but you can see an instagram snap of me wearing the peach one here ~ how cute is it?!

This bright printed tee gives me a much-need print-fix at a bargain price. It's made from a lightweight chiffon-type material, and it's just long enough too do that baggy "half-tuck" into your bottoms ~ a mini styling trick which I love so much. Again, I don't have an outfit post featuring this tee up on the blog yet, but I have shot it already, and I will be publishing the photos along with a full outfit post in the next few days, so stay tuned if you want to see some more pics of it in action!

Finally, this chunky lion head chain is pretty self explanatory. Its cute, its on-trend, and gold hardware jewellery can be teamed with just about everything right now! If you haven't gotten yourself one yet, I strongly recommend snapping one up post-haste!

NOTE: As always, if you're a first-time eBayer, be sure to check out my eBay Shopping Guide here, for handy tips, tricks, and info to help you along. Also remember all the pieces featured above are from sellers in Asia, so shipping can take a lot longer than you might be used to. Again, see my eBay Shopping Guide for more info.

WildChild,

eBay Shopping Guide ~ My Bargain Picks #1

Hey  guys! So this post is a little different from my usual posts, but it's one that is requested a lot!
As you guys probably know, I am a huge fan of eBay. I have been using it for about 5 years now to sniff-out amazing bargains and one-off pieces for my wardrobe. Over the past few years I have grown increasingly tired and frustrated with the standard and originality of some of the highstreet shops in Ireland, which pushed me to branch out into online shops and eBay even more to find fresh pieces that no one else would have.
I have gotten a lot of questions recently about where exactly i find some of these bargains, which sellers to search for and so on, so I have decided to start a series of "eBay Shopping Guides" to show you guys where you can get them! I will feature them in batches, so I wont be bombarding you with too much stuff all at once!

So before I get into my first batch of Top Picks, here are a few things you should know about ebay, a "Crash-Course" if you will!

What you need to know about eBay:
  • The main eBay sites I would recommend using are eBay.ie (Ireland). eBay.com (US) and eBay.co.uk (UK) They are the easiest to use and navigate, and they are all in English.
  • In order to use eBay, you have to register (i.e. set up a profile) and set up a PayPal account. This is how you will pay for your purchases. Your Paypal account then charges the amount to your credit card afterwards, so you never have to use your credit card on any eBay site. I have been using PayPal for years to send and receive money online, its super easy and 100% safe. Just make sure to read all their instructions and guidelines carefully, and keep your password safe!
  • Make sure to check sellers feedback before you buy from them, so you can see if they are a trustworthy seller.
  • If you have any questions about the item you want to buy, just ask the seller! eBay makes it easy for you to do so, and they will usually answer any questions you may have.
  • Always remember that shipping times can take longer than with normal online shops. Your seller will usually tell you how long and item will take to arrive, so you can have a good idea. When buying from outside Europe, the wait can be 2+ weeks, and when buying from Asia, you may have to wait 3 weeks, even up to a month for your item to arrive!
  • Some Asian sellers only stock really small sizes, so be sure to check the measurements before you buy.
  • If you buy something and it is never delivered to you, or it arrives and it is not what you expected, be sure to contact your seller about any problems you have and they will sort it out. If your seller does not reply to you, you can also open up an official claim in eBay to get a refund.

So they are just a few pointers that I feel everyone should know before they start buying from eBay. Now that we've cleared that up, lets get on to the fun stuff ~ My Top eBay Picks! I've even featured links to make it that much easier for you all.

My Top Picks #1:

(Clockwise from top left)

Cat Eye Sunglasses: Some seriously funky sunnies, I just love the shape of these! Get them here // Outfit Post here

Stirrup Chunky Heels: I remember getting SO excited when I found these over a year ago as they were great dupes for the amazing Balenciaga heels that were around at the time. They're still available thankfully, and you can get them here. // Outfit Post here

Embellished Leggings: Perfect for a night out, (or some seriously edgy daywear!) These leggings are totally badass and affordable. Get them here // Outfit Post here
(Note: I noticed that after a few wears, some of the embellishes loosened and started to fall off, so don't expect them to last you a long time, think "cheap and cheerful")

Fringed Kimono: One of my favourite eBay purchases to date. Perfect for the summer-time and for layering under biker jackets for a cool boho look. Also comes in a beautiful red version (which I'm sooo close to buying too) Get it here // Outfit Post here

Pleated leather skirt: I have to admit, I wasn't overly impressed with the quality of this skirt when I first got it, but I have gotten a few wears out of it, that style skirt goes with everything. Get it here // Outfit Post here
(Note: I will probably look for a better version of this skirt, and when I find it I will update this)

Bowler Hats: I have the "Wine red" colour, but you can chose from a huge array of shades. I found the quality to be really great, and I've worn mine heaps! Get them here  // Outfit Post here

OBEY Snapback: I imagine this is probably a dupe of the official OBEY brand, but nonetheless, it's a funky snapback at a great price. I was really pleased with mine, and even my boyfriend steals it on occasion! Get it here // Outfit Post here

Lion Head necklace: Another eBay pick that I have gotten so much wear out of, this cute little lion head goes with just about errrythang in my wardrobe. Get it here  // Outfit Post here

So there you have it guys, that's my first instalment of my "Top eBay Picks", I hope you liked it! Stay tuned for the next instalment, which will feature some of my more recent eBay finds.

I'd love to know if you have been tempted to purchase anything from this list, or have already, so feel free to let me know what you think in the comments below. I always appreciate your feedback :)
