INSTA-LIFE #2 ~ My Life via Instagram

Press Days, Date Nights, Jimbo Jones, and more... here's whats been going on in my life lately:

I went to the River Island High Summer Press Day last week, It was so much fun! The press office was turned in to a tropical paradise, with fake grass and palm trees!

Here's my outfit for the Press Event: ASOS Faux fur coat, Penneys Tshirt, H&M leather pants, American Apparel belt, and River Island beanie.

Blogger Bantz with my friend Emma, you can find her blog here. She's just startig out as a blogger, so show her some love! :)

These beautiful Cinderella-esque beauties were my top pick from the Press Day.
How cute are they?!

One of my recent outfit post, shot in Spain. Oh how I wish I was back there again, frolicking in the sunshine!

That time last week when I was Jimbo Jones.

Six of my empty MAC containers ready to be exchanged! The Back2MAC program allows you to exchange any 6 empties for a free lipstick ~ how cool is that??!

Here is a snap of the lipstick I picked up ~ "Up the Amp" from the Satin range, and I think it could be my favourite lippy shade right now. I wanted a bright, fun colour for Spring/Summer, and this is a sort of violet/pink shade, its amazing!

Cute little cross chain from the River Island Press Day :)

This beauty is the newest addition to my wardrobe. Cannot WAIT to style it!!

I am officially obsessed with Gossip Girl right now. How did I not start watching it sooner?!? Their lives, the clothes, CHUCK BASS?!... Its perfection.

Date-night smiles with the boyf. :)

I waited a whole MONTH for my Bart Simpson printed denim shirt to arrive (curse you, eBay) But HOT DAMN it was worth it. Its my new favourite thing, in the whole world, ever.

Fashion Innovation Awards 2013 ~ Reporting for Fashion One Tv

Dress : Rihanna for River Island // Heels : Zara // Lion Necklace : eBay

Firstly, Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful, chocolate-filled day :)

Some of you may have spotted from my facebook page and my Instagram that I attended the annual Fashion Innovation Awards in the Radission Galway on Thursday. I was covering the event for Fashion One (read blog post here) and I had an absolute blast! Its my third year in a row attending the event, and last year I covered it for Diet Coke Tv (watch the video here). Working with Fashion One this year was great fun, they are a wonderful team to work with! I cant wait to show you guys the video once its finished!

Above are some of the photos from the night, taken by DarachPhotography and Darius Ivan.  I was so happy to finally get the chance to wear my Rihanna for River Island dress which I bought at the Press Event a few weeks ago (read blog post here). I have been dying to show it to you guys, I love it so much! Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of the back to show you, which is a pity as the back is really nice. I love how simple and non-fussy the shape and cut is. I know the Rihanna for River Island collection was met with some mixed reviews, but I think this is an incredible dress. It fits like a dream, and the fabric is great quality, and so so soft!  I think i'll have to include it in a proper outfit post so I can show it to you properly.

In other news, Im in Spain right now, on holidays with my family, for a whole week! We're in a tiny costal town called Nerja, and Im having the greatest time, its so beautiful here. I have to pop off now, as  Im heading out for drinks and tapas (oooh) with my family soon, but I'll be doing my best to continue doing outfit posts and blogging while I'm here.

Ps: Check out this awesome gif that Saibh Egan Photography made for me, how neat is it? She's got some mad skills yo.

River Island S/S '13 Press Event ~ Photo Diary

Here are some photos I snapped at the River Island press event in Dublin yesterday. The lovely people behind River Island invited many of Irelands bloggers and press to come and get a preview of their new Spring/Summer collection before its release. I was really impressed by the "Road Trip" range, which had lots of beautiful bohemian pieces, such as heavy beaded kimonos and endless amounts of lace, fringing and crochet. I would feel comfortable wearing almost anything from that range, as you all know I have a penchant for anything bohemian, and I love to let my inner hippy run wild, particularly at festivals in the Summertime!

Here are some more snaps which you may have spotted from my twitter and instagram ~ I had the pleasure of attending the event with the lovely Leanne from Thunder & Threads, and we had such a laugh together trying on clothes and taking photos!

We were also set the very fun task of moving around in front of a camera for about 10 seconds, and afterwards we were given these really cool little "Flickerbooks" that you flick through to see a moving cartoon of yourself, I decided to do a bit of hair-flicking in mine and the result was pretty hilarious, you can see the a video of it that I posted on Vine here.

Hope you guys enjoyed this little post, I will have a full outfit post of what I was wearing up on the blog very soon, so stay tuned for that!

Working with GAF-TV: News, Photos, and Video

Oh it feels so good to be back blogging again, I certainly missed it!
As you guys know I had been working with the Galway Arts Festival's Tv crew "GAF-TV" for most of July, and I just thought I'd tell you guys a little bit more about that, and show you some of the finished videos we worked on.

Working with GAF-TV was an amazing experience, I met some really wonderful people, and I learned so so much in such a short space of time. It was a completely different experience to working with Diet Coke Tv, as I was working behind the camera, rather that in front of it presenting, but it was so interesting and challenging nonetheless. The main piece I was working on over the two weeks was the "Thank You & Goodnight" video, which was to be the finale of all the GAF-TV videos, and aired at the end of the festival. The idea behind the video was to get as many people as possible dancing on camera, and to get people from all over Galway, from all walks of life, different ages, backgrounds, occupations and so on, to do a little bit of a boogie to Chic's "Everybody Dance". (Chic are a massive disco/funk band from the 70/80's and were the headlining act of the festival- they're amazing!) My job in particular was to get reactions out of people, get them pumped up and ready to be on camera, and make sure they give enough energy when they're being filmed, and of course, get them dancing! You need a serious amount of energy to do this over and over for a long time, and if your energy flags when you're dealing with people, they wont give you as much on camera. Its also really important to make people feel comfortable on camera, which so many people are not, to show them that there's nothing to be embarrassed about. I ended up dancing just as much as they people we were filming, only behind the camera! Doing this kind of work only convinces me further that this is what I should be doing, this is the path I should follow :)

There was a huge amount of work put in by everyone involved in GAFT-TV, resulting in so many amazing videos being made and aired throughout the whole festival. Check out the GAF-TV Youtube page to see some of their amazing work.

One of my other highlights of the whole festival was going to see Chic play at the big-top with my sisters and mother, and getting to dance onstage with my sisters! (Mum was side-stage, but wouldn't come dance with us unfortunately :P) It was such a fun experience, we danced out buts off,  and we got to meet Neil Rodgers afterwards and chatted to him for a while. He was such a gentleman, and a true musical legend!
