Wishlist #4 Printed Summer Suit

BonPrix Outfit Moodboard

All items from www.BonPrix.co.uk
Hey guys! So as you can see I'm really getting into the whole Wishlist thing, and here is my most recent one featuring some of my favourite picks for a summery, tropical-themed look, as its something Ive been really into lately.

Im a bit obsessed with printed suits right now. They are so fresh and fun, and you can also mix and match the separates into other outfits, as well as wearing them together for maximum impact!

This plant-print suit is absolutely amazing, Im really into the longer short-length and the matchy-matchy green print ~ it so cool!! I would team with a pair of simple black strappy sandals to tone the print down (if thats at all possible!) and a matching chunky gold chain bracelet & necklace to swag it up that bit more. I also threw in a tan handbag to hold all my would-be summer essentials ~  ice-pops and paper umbrellas of course!

Peace,
WildChild,
xx

Outfit Post: There's no Hope with Dope.

Top : AxParis // Necklace : eBay // Skirt : eBay //
Boots : Jeffrey Campbell // Hat : eBay // Sunglasses : eBay

Soooo pretty much everything I'm wearing in this look is from eBay, apart from my trusty Tardy boots, and my wonderful new "DOPE" slogan tee from AxParis, which I absolutely love.

Most people know that "Dope" means cool (or weed) in American slang, but it also means "idiot" in Irish slang ~ which makes me wonder if some people who don't get the American reference think that I'm essentially calling myself an eeejit (or maybe a dope-peddler ?!). Anyways, the thought makes me giggle a little when I wear this top, which must be a good thing, right?

I also think this slogan-top is a refreshing change from the hugely popular (dare I say TOO popular?) "Geek" and "Nerd" tees that are all over the place right now, would you agree? It also comes in white and grey, and you can get them (and lots of other awesome threads) here.

Also, I think my eBay addiction is becoming more and more evident as these outfit posts continue. I just can't help it, its my favourite spot for amazingly cheap, on-trend pieces.

Once you get past the shipping time (it can take up to a MONTH for your item to be delivered from some parts of Asia ~ painful !) and perfect your searching and trawling skillz, it becomes a fantastic resource.

If anyone is trying eBay out for the first time and feels lost, feel free drop me an email (my contact details are here) or you can anonymously as me anything via my tumblr here. I have been using eBay it for over 7 nears now (yikes!) and will happily be your guru :)

Peace,
WildChild

P.P.S: In case you were wondering where I the title of my post from ~ anyone remember this? Haha :P

WATCH: Diet Coke Tv at the IDC Fashion Show Video!

I'm so happy to be able to show you the latest video I've done with Diet Coke Tv, this time I'm reporting at the International Design Collective Fashion Show at the Volvo Ocean Race Galway. I had such a blast on the night, you can read all about the night itself by clicking here. I'm so happy with how the video turned out, I think I'm slowly but surely getting better at the whole presenting thing, its just so much fun!

Hope you all like the video, I'd love to hear your thoughts, let me know in the comment box below. xxx

Reporting for Diet Coke at the International Design Collective Fashion Show!!

One of the main features if the Volvo Ocean Race in Galway Last week was the International Design Collective Fashion Show, organised by Goldenegg Productions. Held in the luxurious Global Arena, the event showcased 10  different collections from designers both homegrown and worldwide. I was there to cover the event for Diet Coke Tv, and I had an absolute blast. :D Haven been kindly given two extra VIP tickets, I gave them to two of my sisters who accompanied me on the night. While they got to sip endless glasses of Champagne, nibble on delectible hors-d'uerves and mingle with the west's fashion elite, I on the other hand had work to do! Not that I really minded,  as I love this kind of work so much :D The filming and interviews went really well, and I think I can safely (and very happily say) Im getting better at this. Well, more relaxed at least, but that alone makes a huge difference!! I cant wait to see the finished piece, Im sure it will be great. You can see my last Diet Coke Video here where I covered the Fashion Innovation Awards back in April. I will have to wait a little longer to see the finished video, but I will share it with you all as soon as its done! As with all event like this, I needed to look my best, and I was so lucky to have the wonderful Lyndsay on hand from Absolute Hair Galway to work her magic on my barnet. She went for a non-fussy look, with lots of volume and curls, and I was really happy with the results. I strongly recommend paying them a visit of you're in Galway, they're AMAZING!

I also picked up some bits and pieces earlier in the day, some Impress Nails, which are so handy if you are on the go and don't have the time to sit down and do you nails, these are an absolute GODSEND! Just pop them on and away you go! I chose a lovely deep wine colour, which complemented my dress and makeup nicely! You can get these in Primark/Penneys for only €7, and they come in a wide range of colours and patterns. I also picked up a packed of 5 eyelash sets from Penneys/Primark, as I had heard from friends that they were much the same as the expensive "Girls Aloud" eyelash range, and at only €8, they were great value. They turned out to be very good, and just subtle enough for me. I personally hate the look of massive OTT eyelashes, save it for halloween people! Anyhow I made sure to use my own Duo eyelash glue (available from Brown Thomas) with these as I am wary of cheap eyelash glue. I would really recommend these lashes, for the price and the quality, but I HAVE NOT tried the glue, just for the record!

I also picked up some new lipstick for the event, I have wanted to get a deep berry shade for ages, and the MAC  matte lipstick in "Diva" seemed the perfect colour!

My dress is from the Savida range in Dunnes Stores (believe it or not) and was bought by my older sister, and I borrowed it for this event. I was so happy with it! My shoes are from Zara.

Myself and my sister Claire

Briona and Claire looking fabulous as per usual!

The fashion show was spectacular, I was really impressed by the standard of the designs, and although I was busy throughout the night, I managed to share some sneaky snaps via instagram. If you're not following me on instagram you can find me @WildChildCiara, its a great way to stay updated! Here are some of the instagram picks I took on the night:

Briona, Myself and Claire enjoying the show!

Its on like Donkey Kong!

Mark T. Burke's hat designs killing it as per ususal!

Claire and I

The Impress Nails turned out so well! And stayed put for the night!

There were Claddagh rings in the gift bags, how very fancy!

All in all, the night was a total success and I had such a great time filming with Colin from Diet Coke. The more I do this kind of presenting work, the more I fall in love with it, its would be such an exciting career to have. I don't want it to ever end! Im so excited to see the video, and show you guys, but I must be patient for now :) Here are some more photos from the night, taken buy the lovely Darach of DarachPhotography:

I just cant resist a bitta messin' :D

You can check out the rest of Darach's photos from the night here!

Thats all for now guys, I hope you likes this post, sorry if it was a bit long for some of you, but I didn't want to leave anything out! Let me know what you think of it all in the comment box below!

Press Feature in Connaught Tribune & Outfit Post!

Now that the madness of the Galway Volvo Ocean race is over, I can finally get back to blogging normality. The past week has been so exciting, I have so much news to share with you all! Here's the first installment, with more to come in the next few days! Last week I was lucky enough to be featured alongside some wonderful Galway people for a street-style-type feature in the Connaught Tribune. Only just getting around to posting the photos now! I was really happy with how the photos came out, they were shot by the uber-talented and all-round-lovely photographer Saibh Egan. It was featured in the papers  "Look" magazine, and was written by the lovely Cathy Donohue. Here are some shots of the feature that she took, I still havent scanned it yet, so these will have to do for now!

Here is a close-up of my photo and outfit, I'm wearing Pretty Polly tights, Jeffrey Cambpell Tardy boots, a Penneys collar necklace, a hat from ebay, and my dress and jacket are from H&M. My clutch bag is handmade by blogger TarMar. I really like this outfit as its fun and palyfull, while still looking casual enough for day wear. This coat from H&M is probably one of my best buys of this year, I just get so much wear out of it, and the style of it goes with EVERYTHING! To top it all off, it only cost me about €30. G'wan H&M! Thats all for now folks, hope you like it! Let me know what you think in the comment box below, and there's lots more news and exciting post to come in the next few days so stay tuned peeps!

Interview with Laura Sheeran aka "Glitterface" of NanuNanu

Today we get to have a chat with fellow "Wild Child" Laura Sheeran, musician and artist, and one-half of the incredible band Nanu Nanu. Laura plays the mysterious character "Glitterface" on stage, and her amazing sound coupled with her entertaining on-stage presence makes Nanu Nanu a rising star on the Irish music scene.
 NAME: Laura Sheeran/GlitterfaceAGE: 25
OCCUPATION: Musician/Performer with NANU NANUFAVOURITE FOOD/MEAL: Anything with LOADS of garlic in it!
FAVOURITE PERK OF MY JOB: Getting to go wild and be super creative with elaborate costume ideas and being able to dress up for every gig!
FRIENDS TELL ME I'M: A workaholic
MY PROUDEST MOMENT TO DATE: When NANU NANU did our first gig, we were put on as the headline act (having never played before!) for a 'Ones To Watch In 2012" festival in Dublin and we played to a full house who danced and jumped and shouted - the atmosphere was amazing and the crowd were totally on fire, we'll always remember that as the best first gig ever!
LAST DREAM I HAD: You seriously don't wanna know!
MY GUILTY PLEASURE: I LOVE Home & Away, always have, always will.
CANT STOP LISTENING TO: Grimes
MY BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE: Em, I'm not sure.. I have a feeling I'd be able to list a lot more of those by the end of the year :P
CURRENTLY LUSTING AFTER: The Moog Theremin they are stocking in Music Maker at the moment... covet, covet, covet!
PET PEEVE: I hate the sound of people eating with their mouth open and I also have a completely irrational fear of animals paws... jump on me, and I will scream
BIGGEST SPLURGE/SPEND: Probably my laptop, I never really have a lot of money but when I do, it has to go on something work/music related...
DREAM HOLIDAY/TRIP: Oh my god, ANY holiday or trip.. I haven't been on a holiday since 2009.
WHERE I'LL BE IN 5 YEARS TIME: Touring the world with NANU NANU, of course!
HOW I WIND DOWN: Watching episodes of 24 in bed
MY MANTRA/SECRET TO SUCCESS: 'Progress, not perfection'
IF I WAS AN ANIMAL I'D BE: does an Alien count? I'd be an alien, in fact, I think I am and alien.
MY CELEBRITY CRUSH (DEAD OR ALIVE!) : Beyonce, without a doubt.
MY CURRENT DREAM/GOAL: To get to gig in The States. I've never been outside of Europe.
ADVICE TO MY 16 YEAR-OLD SELF: 'Don't bleach your hair AGAIN! It will all fall out, you'll have to cut it up short and it will start going grey, by the time you're 25, you'll be half grey!' TRUTH.
WHO/WHAT INSPIRES ME: People who work hard and achieve their goals, but also enjoy themselves and don't let stress get the better of them. I am inspired by people who aren't afraid to do their own thing and are true to themselves. I know it sounds corny.. but not enough people really follow their dreams.. we only have one shot at this, live the live YOU want live, not the life society says you should.

To stay updated with Lauras antics, you can like NanuNanu's facebook page HERE, where you'll find exclusive photos, tour dates, videos, and more fun stuff. Check out one of the duo's latest videos: "Skin". Its a cracking tune, and the video is very cool. Enjoy guys :)

Real vs Steal: Chloe Studded Ankle Boots Vs Office Nighthawk Boots!

My Office boots

This week's "Real vs Steal" is a personal victory of mine, and one that I hop you guys enjoy just as much! Like every other fashion blogger out there, I had been lusting after the ChloĆ© "Susan" boots for some time now. Their beautiful studded pattern, the cute buckles, and the seemingly perfectly-sized heel all combined together to make them my ultimate ankle boot. But sadly, the $1, 245 price tag left me a bit shy to make the purchase! I had been keeping an eye out for a good replica for a long time now, but none of the boots I spotted on the high street were up to scratch, until that is, I was walking by Office a few days ago, and did an immediate double-take. There they were! My beloved boots, in the window. It was too good to be true! I immediately went in, tried them on, and after deciding that yes, they were indeed the perfect alternative, I snapped them up quicksmart! So ladies, if you're on the hunt for the perfect ankle boot, with just the right amount of edge, then look no further!  Good quality leather, comfortable, and with the reasonable price tag of approx  €110 (15% off for students!) you cant really go wrong with these babies. Get them here. Well played Office, you have proved to me once again that you are the BEST for incredible shoes at high-street prices!

What do you guys think of these boots? Will you be buying them? Let me know in the comment box below!
