New Projects

Sequin Tee: A|wear (similar here, here and here) | Pvc midi skirt: Missguided (similar here and here) | Faux fur stole: Asos (similar here and here) | heels: Penneys (similar here and here| Watch: Michael Kors (more affordable versions herehere and here) Photos: Jason Branagan

One of the things I love most about this time of the year is that you can get away with that bit more in your party outfits. More sequins, more colours, more faux fur, when the festive season rolls around, it all sounds good to me! I decided to put together a party look that I would love to be wearing in over the next few weeks, consisting of some new and old pieces. Firstly, lets talk about the skirt. I picked up this baby pink PVC beauty on Missguided after stalking it for a few weeks, and I have to say that I'm so happy with it. I teamed it with a sequin tee, which I have to admit is one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe, and I wear it all year round. It's not available in the shops anymore, but I also love this one and this one from Topshop, who have some great sequin tees at the moment.

I'm sure a lot of you probably saw my good news on my facebook page, but for those of you who missed it, I am the new Fashion Shop Stylist for Xpose online! I will also be writing a weekly column for their website, full of fashion musings and style advice. I'll be posting weekly articles, you can see my introductory one here. Working with a big broadcasting channel like Xpose is a big step in the right direction for me, and I am so excited to get started on all the different projects it will involve. My job as lead stylist in iClothing involves a lot of work with TV3, including working on and prepping for TV slots, which is a lot of fun! I'm actually in the studio tomorrow for a meeting and to assisting on some Fashion Shop slots, so be sure to follow my Instagram @CiaraODoherty to see what I get up to.

I also decided to make a brand new facebook page, so people can keep track of my styling and broadcasting work, as well as all my regular fashion blog updates. You can check out my new page here, I'd really appreciate if you gave it a like!

Hope you're all having a great week!

Pink to make the boys wink.

Coat: eBay (similar here, here and here) | Turtle-neck: H&M (similar here, here and here) | Skirt: ASOS (similar here, here and here) | Boots: Zara (similar here) | Bag : Michael Kors Selma | Watch: Michael Kors (more affordable versions here and here) | Photos : Jason Branagan

I've been working in my new job in iClothing for over two months now, gosh where has the time gone!? Working full time for a clothing company has been a bit of an adjustment, but a welcome one at that. As I mentioned before, I haven't had weekends off in the past 5 years, so I have been enjoying every single minute of my Saturday's and Sundays these past two months. My working week is pretty hectic, so Ive been using my weekends to catch up with friends over coffees, run errands, potter around town, and just to relax in general.

On Saturday I popped into town to take some photos with Jason Branagan of this new pink coat I bought from eBay recently. Jason is primarily a filmmaker, but we've been having fun collaborating together on some outfit posts for the blog. It turns out he's a great photographer, and a lovely lad to boot, so you can expect to see a lot more of his work on WCS in the near future.

Now, more about the coat! After being seriously tempted by super-blogger Camille's pink coat at LFW this year, I went on the hunt for one of my own. I found this beauty on eBay of all places, for a seriously reasonable price, and I am so impressed with the quality and fit, not to mention, the bold, bright colour. I feel a bit like a walking marshmallow when I wear it, but I think that's a good thing. I love marshmallows!

Playing with Textures

Skirt: River Island (similar here and here) | Turtle-neck: Penneys (similar here) | Gilet: eBay (simialr here and here) | Boots: Zara (similar here and here) | Brooch: Jasper Jewellery

I popped into town over the weekend for a haircut in SugarCubed, my favourite hair salon, and a nose around the shops. If you are looking for a great hair salon in Dublin city, I really can't recommend them enough, you can read about my first experience with them here. Ever since I got my hair cut at the beginning of the summer, I've loved the shorter length and choppy style, I think the messy look suits my personality and style better, what do you guys think?

I decided to go for an all-black palette for this look, but played with different textures and shades, as I think they can really make an all-black outfit so much more interesting! You may remember this faux fur gilet from some of my outfit posts last winter , it has to be one of my best eBay bargains to date. It's extremely warm and cosy, and it goes with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. I find faux fur to be incredibly handy for keeping warm in the winter time, and seen as it's such a fun texture to style, you can expect to see many more faux fur pieces creeping into my outfit posts soon.

One of the other reasons I chose this all black look was to show off this beautiful brooch from Jasper Jewellery, which I am absolutely in love with! It's made with Swarovski crystals, and it sparkles so brightly, the photos really don't do it justice. This is the first brooch I've had in my jewellery collection, and it's perfect for adding that touch of colour and embellishment to any outfit. I recommend having a look at Jasper Jewellery's website,  there are so many other little treasures in there!

Hoping you're all having a great week so far!

Turtle-necks and Tartan Trews

Turtle-neck jumper: H&M (similar here and here) | Tartan Pants: Similar here, here and here | Boots: Zara (similar here and here) | Ring: Eclectic Eccentricity | Watch: Michael Kors (more affordable versions herehere and here)

Yesterday was one of those perfect Sundays. Yoseph had an unexpected day off work and college, and so  we went to check out the Dun Laoighre Sunday market with two of our friends. The food was amazing (I kid you not, the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted) and we wandered around eating, drinking, and generally being merry. I also had an interview with the press yesterday morning over the phone (in my pajamas, I'll have you know!) for a feature that I am so excited to share with you guys as soon as I can.
I came across this absolute hero of a jumper in H&M on Saturday, which is just as soft and cosy at it looks. Turtle-necks are my latest mini-obsession, they are incredibly warm and comfortable, and I think they look great either worn on their own, or styled up with a coat or gilet. This season, I am determined to get my winter dressing down to a t, and this turtleneck is a welcome addition to my cosy-clothing arsenal. It certainly kept me snug at yesterday's market!

As for these tartan pants, I posted a snap of them on my instagram yesterday, and I got a few questions as to where they are from. I actually picked them up from a distributor that iClothing source a lot of their clothes from, so unfortunately they're not available to buy yet, I'm sorry guys! I have linked a few  lovely similar pieces in the widget above, so hopefully that will make up for it.

Wishing you all a great week!

Oversized Tee

Teeshirt: River Island | Skirt: Penneys (similar here and here) | Boots: Zara  (similar here, and here | Hat: Topshop (similar here and here) | Collared Shirt: Littlewoods (similar here and here) | Necklace: MyNameNecklace.com | Rings: Eclectic EccentricityWatch: Michael Kors (more affordable versions herehere and here)

Lately I've been loving the look of a crisp white collar peeking out of a tee-shirt or sweater, its the perfect way to layer up for the cold without feeling too frumpy. I picked up this oversized teeshirt in the River Island sale over the weekend, and I just love the quilted texture, and the oversized fit, not to mention the funky coloured-leopard print!

Along with the tee-shirt, I picked up a few more gems in the River Island sale, which I was surprised at as I usually do most of my shopping online. I find that websites are handier, cheaper, and often have a better selection than on the highstreet, but it was nice to have an aul' rummage in the sales for a change. It made me realise that I haven't really done any thrift or vintage shopping since I moved to Dublin, and I want to make more time for that, as Its something I used to enjoy so much. So, of you have any recommendations for good thrift or vintage shops in Dublin, I'd love to hear them!

Im so delighted that the weekend is finally here, I'm going for drinks tonight with friend and fellow blogger Laura Mullet from Lipstick Gossip, I can't wait to have a good catch up with her over a cocktail or two. Wishing you all a great Bank Holiday weekend!

Statement Jumpers & Early Mornings

Jumper: Romwe (similar here and here and here) | Skirt : ASOS (via Outlet Stores ~ Londons' first and only outlet centre) | Boots : Zara (similar here, and here ) | Bag : Vince Camuto

Between my new new job at iClothing, and some other projects I've been working on, my schedule has been pretty busy lately. Combine that with the fact that mine and Yoseph (my boyfriend and extremely patient photographer) have totally conflicting schedules right now, and it spells trouble for my future outfit posts. I figured out that the only time I can find to take outfit pictures anymore is early in the morning, before I go to work. So this morning I was up before dawn to get ready, and then I waited for the sun to rise before I could go out and and shoot this outfit. It might sound pretty extreme, but to me it's worth it. I love blogging so much, and I'm dedicated to keep WCS running no matter what my schedule is like. So now that I've explained myself, I hope that you guys can forgive me if I look a little sleepy in some of my next outfit posts, including this one.  And hey, you can take my puffy eyes and sleepy stare as a token of how dedicated I am to you guys!

This outfit is one of my attempts to stay warm without having to wear a bulky jacket, and thankfully this Romwe jumper is just as cosy as it is cute, so I was pretty toasty in it. I teamed it with some thick tights from Penneys, which are great for warmth and comfort, and a kick flare skirt from ASOS. I'm absolutely loving this skirt-shape right now, its so fun and flirty! Beware of rogue gusts of wind however, or you just might end up having your own little Marilyn-moment.

In a bizarre stroke of luck, I managed to win a meal for myself and three friends (cocktails included!) in the Damson Diner on South William street for this evening, which I am pretty darn delighted about! I have heard great things about the spot, so I better pop off and start getting ready, I don't want to be late! Keep an eye on my instagram and twitter to see how I get on, no doubt it will be a lovely evening. I have lots of blog posts planned for the next few days, including a few more early-morning outfit posts, gulp.

Hoping everyone is having a great week!

Outfit Post: Fringed Kimono

Kimono: NoPolka.com | Skort: eBay | Cami top: Penneys/Primark | Heels: Penneys/Primark | Watch: Michael Kors (more affordable versions herehere and here)

This is the last outfit post from my holiday to Nerja, and I am already pining for the warmth of the sun on my skin! The weather has taken a turn for the worse here in Dublin, with the wind and rain washing away all thoughts of Summer. Part of me is excited to get back into the swing of Autumn dressing, and I have a few new pieces that I can't wait to show you guys on the blog. Personally, I think Kimonos can still be worn during the A/W season, it's all about how you style them. I would wear mine under a biker jacket for an extra layer, which I have done a few times, but never photographed in an outfit post for some reason. I'll put it on my to-do list! I have linked some of my favourite kimonos available right now in the widget above.

One of the perks of my new job in iClothing is having weekends off, and seen as I worked weekends for the past five years in my old job, I've really been enjoying them. I'm heading to an engagement party on Saturday, brunch with friends on Sunday, and I'll hopefully get to photograph some outfits for the blog too. Wishing you all a great weekend!
